Mothers Day Shoot

As I have been pushing moms to get in front of the camera I wanted to share a little session I recently had. Mom was visiting and was nice enough to give us all hair cuts in exchange for pictures of her son. Being the week before mothers day, I had to have her jump in with them :)

The best part, we took them right by my house, no traveling required. 
Challenge for today: Where ever you are, you can always find a little spot that is picture worthy!

I hope that you had a wonderful mothers day! Mine was the best I've had (I will probably say the same thing next year :) Very relaxing, love pouring out of my children and husband and an overwhelming love for motherhood.

This year my goal is to be in front of the camera more. This is hard for me, because I am SO much more comfortable behind the lens :) So for my mothers day gift this year I decided to get some pictures of me and my kids. I got together with a local photographer, Corrie with CLB Photography. It was so much fun and I now have SO many great pictures to cherish :) Thanks Corrie!!

Hot Mama! {Thornton Colorado Photographer}

This was a really fun session for 2 reasons. 

1. It is nice to take pictures of adults, they are fun and all you have to work on is getting them comfortable and bringing out their personality in the pictures.

2. This is a really good friend of mine that has had an amazing weight loss journey. She lost 65lbs in less than a year and became a LIFETIME member of weight watchers for doing so.

Meet my friend Ashley, she is the kick-off to a new package I am offering which I call "Hot Mama". 

All too often moms get put behind the camera and seldom have pictures of themselves. If you are like me the only pictures I have are ones that I hand the camera to my husband and ask him to snap a picture of me with one of my kids on a memorial event (eg. birthday, first day of school, Easter, etc.) I think it is so important for moms to get in front of the camera so they have something to pass on to their kids. Remember the pictures of our ancestors? Black and white images, stern face, proper pose, only them (no children). How lucky are we to have pictures of them that will last a lifetime! Unlike our foremothers I want to capture moms style, personality and beuaty so they can pass that onto the ones they love.

Spring is in the Air! {North Denver Family Photographer}

Spring is a time for re-birth! 

Trees, flowers and of course those darn weeds are coming back to life. 

Baby animals are running through ours yards and parks and flying through the sky. 

The weather is shifting from cold to warm.

The days are getting longer.

The Winds of change have been blowing (and almost blown our fence down :).

I love Spring and I love change!

Some very exciting changes are coming your way! 

The blog will be getting a face lift, I will be adding a website and facebook page and  I will be doing some giveaways, so stay tuned!

I hope you are as excited as I am  :)

And I can't make a post without a picture:) Here are my littlest's getting ready for their Easter outfit photo shoot. And no my daughters socks are not part of her outfit, but refused taking them off after getting them from the Easter bunny!

Spring is FINALLY here!! {North Denver Family Photographer}

If the weather hasn't told you already, the calendar can. 

I LOVE spring! 

*I love the feeling of freshness as I kick stuffy winter air out the open windows. 

*I love seeing everything around me come back to life.

*I love seeing everything in the stores go from dull dark shades to bright and happy.

But most of all.....

*I love spending all day outside in the backyard laying on a blanket while reading books in the sun and jumping on the trampoline with my kids :)

Oh yes and... 

*I also love that families start coming out of hibernation for some beautiful and fun family pictures.

Latest....{Thornton Colorado Newborn Photographer}

So the month of February brought freezing cold temperatures (compared to lovely January) and a bunch of friendly little faces to my house :) I got to photograph this little guy today at 5 days old!! Hopefully in the next couple days I can get my other sessions posted......Here's to hoping :)
